Intel SSD DC P3700 mediaworkstations.net

If you haven’t heard, the Intel SSD DC P3700, announced over the summer, is officially here. With speeds up to 6 times that of standard SATA3 SSDs, NVMe is a breakthrough into an entirely new realm of drive performance.

The Intel SSD DC P3700 (and P3600, soon available) are PCIe SSDs that feature a custom Intel NVMe controller which found it’s origins in the S3700/S3500 series. The difference? Improved internal bandwidth, reduced latencies and as much as 2TB of Intel’s own 20nm MLC NAND.

If you are working with large hi res files in Adobe CC, Autodesk Maya or 3dsMax, C4D or doing demanding editing, modeling, particle simulation, color correction like Davinci Resolve or compositing of any kind, whether previs or final render Intel’s SSD DC P3700 delivers results that are impressive. A single P3700 can deliver up to 450K random read IOPS, 150K random write IOPS and nearly 2GB/s of sequential writes. With sequential read speeds up to 2,800 MB/s, and write speeds up to 2,000 MB/s, and a lifetime endurance rating of some 37 Petabytes, the Intel SSD DC P3700 is a drive ready for 4K, 5K, 6K, 8K and beyond.

Nov. 1: The Intel P3600 and P3700 are now available with all i-X2, i-X and i7-X mediaworkstations.
